A combined review of vibration control strategies for high-speed trains and railway infrastructures: Challenges and solutions

People use trains as a means of transportation to travel various nearby and distant destinations, resulting in an increasing amount time spent inside such vehicles. Consequently, railway sectors are focusing significantly more on enhancing passengers’ demand level satisfaction, including but not limited high-speed travel, safety, riding comfort. This paper provides state-of-the-art review available solutions for reducing undesired vibrations that have substantial impact improving the critical velocity limits trains, maintaining quality comfort, resolving safety concerns. In this regard, proposed train vibration control divided into two main categories: direct indirect solutions. The those methods applied directly trains’ bodies or bogies attenuate vibrations, example, suspension/damper system, implementing active/semi-active strategies, applying carriage optimization design modifications. Indirect solutions, other hand, could indirectly affect controlling bridge structures during passages. Since identification characteristics is assumed be first step choosing proper particularly active semi-active implementations, has examined literature pertinent modal infrastructures. Additionally, despite installation dampers between bogie suspension, train’s equation motion, consequently, bogie, relied sky-hook model decades. fundamental problem systems whose strategies based concept ‘sky’ does actually exist. A solution solve logic issue using tuned rotatory inertia drivers which addressed well. Finally, it concluded these three – employing system elastic connection under-chassis-suspended equipment, ballastless can practically mitigate noise train.
